The Varosa Valley Bridge crosses the valley at a maximum height of 120m. It comprises two parallel six-span box girders in prestressed concrete with a total length of 460m each. These were cast \u201cin situ\u201d in 5.00m segments using the balanced cantilever method.<\/p>\n
The piers have maximum height of 80m with hollow rectangular variable cross-section shafts in piers P2 and P3 and a constant cross-section in the remaining piers. The cross-section widens laterally at the top. The foundations are direct on the schist and granite bedrock.<\/p>\n
Construction was completed in
