The bridge crosses the Balsem\u00e3o Valley at height of 110m and comprises two parallel six span box girders in prestressed concrete with a total length of 460m each. These were cast \u201cin situ\u201d in 5.00m segments using the balanced cantilever method.<\/p>\n
The piers have a maximum height of 73m with hollow rectangular variable cross-section shafts in piers P2 and P3 and a constant cross-section in the remaining piers. The cross-section widens laterally at the top. The foundations are direct on the schist bedrock.<\/p>\n
Construction was completed in
